Java Cocktails: The "Irish Coffee" recipe, a classic coffee cocktail drink that uses irish whiskey and whipping cream.

Learn how to make the classic "Irish Coffee" hot cocktail drink.


This drink is incredibly popular in the Irish pubs.
It is also one of the most popular java coffee cocktail drinks.
Similar to a hot toddy, this version dates back to the 1940's.
It started to become popular in the 1950's.

To make this drink right you should use real Irish Whiskey like Jameson which is what we use.
Great drink for those colder days of winter when you can use a nice pick me up.
Best served in a classic Irish coffee mug with the thicker glass.

Note: The higher quality whipping cream will greatly ad to the taste. The drink is drunk through the cream.

Original Classic Irish Cream Recipe
Ingredients:
2 1/2 ounce Hot black coffee
1 1/2 ounce Irish whiskey
1 tsp ounce brown sugar
1 ounce thick cream

Drink Mixing Instructions:
Mix the whiskey and coffee in a Irish coffee mug.
Add the brown sugar, and fully dissolve, this is important make the cream float.
Top with the cream by pouring over the back of a spoon to float.
Drink through the cream.
