Coffee Cocktails: The Grand Marnier Hot Chocolate

Java Coffee Cocktail Recipes.

Learn to make the classic "Grand Marnier Hot Chocolate" recipe. 

This recipe makes a batch to be enjoyed by a few people. It's chocolate and creamy texture are just wonderful. The Grand Marnier gives this cocktail a nice orange zest. Works great as a holiday drink or warm cocktail for the colder winter months. A wonderful java cocktail. Yummy!


Grand Marnier Hot Chocolate

Ingredients:
  • 1 cup half n' half cream
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 6 oz  sweet chocolate, finely chopped
  • 1/3 cup Grand Marnier

Mixing Instructions:
Start by heating the half and half, milk, and orange juice until it just starts to boil.
Using a mixing bowl, add about 2/3 cup of hot milk to the chocolate and blend until nice and smooth. Next, add the rest of the milk and stir some more.
Put on low heat and simmer for 2 minutes.
Add the Grand Marnier and serve in a irish mug, coffee mug or cocktail glass.

 The "Spanish Coffee" recipe using Tia Maria and rum.


Tia Maria is a coffee liquor that goes great with coffee. The dark rum really pulls it all together. This Java cocktail is super easy to make.  You can use white rum, but we prefer the dark.

Spanish Coffee Recipe:

Ingredients:



  • 1/2 oz Tia Maria Coffee Liqueur 
  • 1/2 oz Dark rum
  • 1 cup Hot Brewed coffee

Mixing Instructions:
Brew the coffee and pour into a coffee mug.
Add the Tia Maria and then the dark rum.
Give a quick stir and drink this mixed drink warm.

Java coffee cocktail recipes: Learn how to make the "Mad Monk" a warm cocktail, that uses Frangelico, peppermint Schnapps, coffee and chocolate.


The reason they monk may be mad, is that all the ingredients kinda come at you all at once. Many will love this warm wintery cocktail, while others with find it a bit much.

"Mad Monk" Cocktail Recipe
Ingredients:
• 1 ounce Frangelico hazelnut liqueur
• 1 ounce peppermint schnapps
• hot chocolate (to taste)
• hot coffee  (to taste)
• whipped cream used as a garnish (optional)

Cocktail Mixing Instructions:
Pour the ingredients into a mug or Irish coffee mug.
Next, mix in equal parts of the hot chocolate and the warmed coffee.
Give it a quick mix.
You can garnish the mixed drink with some whipped cream.

Java Cocktails: The "Irish Coffee" recipe, a classic coffee cocktail drink that uses irish whiskey and whipping cream.

Learn how to make the classic "Irish Coffee" hot cocktail drink.


This drink is incredibly popular in the Irish pubs.
It is also one of the most popular java coffee cocktail drinks.
Similar to a hot toddy, this version dates back to the 1940's.
It started to become popular in the 1950's.

To make this drink right you should use real Irish Whiskey like Jameson which is what we use.
Great drink for those colder days of winter when you can use a nice pick me up.
Best served in a classic Irish coffee mug with the thicker glass.

Note: The higher quality whipping cream will greatly ad to the taste. The drink is drunk through the cream.

Original Classic Irish Cream Recipe
Ingredients:
2 1/2 ounce Hot black coffee
1 1/2 ounce Irish whiskey
1 tsp ounce brown sugar
1 ounce thick cream

Drink Mixing Instructions:
Mix the whiskey and coffee in a Irish coffee mug.
Add the brown sugar, and fully dissolve, this is important make the cream float.
Top with the cream by pouring over the back of a spoon to float.
Drink through the cream.
